We all like art from at least one crappy human being. I don't care that the narrator sometimes has the personality of a 12 year old because their product is entertaining to me and I enjoy it, but just because I enjoy it doesn't mean I condone his behavior. I listen to Sword and Scale because it's entertaining. This man is clearly the definition of a “bata male” and I’m just kinda over it.Hear me out. And his “got takes” are just ignorant words from a privileged white male, who has never had to walk through life as a woman or at risk minority. He sounds desperate, like he’s trying to get people to like him. Over all I’m not impressed with his story telling abilities any more. Maybe instead of telling woman to carry, you could talk to your male audience about not raping and killing woman? I don’t know. I promise we don’t think a 22 is scary, and I guarantee I can pick multiple women off the street that could shoot better than he could. The last episode was pathetic, lots of victim blaming as per usual, but the the host then has the audacity to tell woman we need to carry a 22, adding “don’t worry ladies, they aren’t scary”. He’s clearly a salty male with a hurt ego and it’s getting draining to wade through all his side comments and shade. Looked past the hosts stupid remarks a few times, tried to give him the benefit of the doubt after the drama a few years back. SWORD AND SCALE PLUSI subscribe to PLUS and have not regretted a single episode! Thanks sword and scale team! Keep up the good work. Mike dives deep into a lot of cases I haven’t heard before, which is hard to do in a world where true crime podcasts are everywhere and I listen to a lot of them. SWORD AND SCALE FREEIsn’t that the point of living in a free country? To have a different opinion as someone else and yet still listen to their side of things and either choose to agree or not agree? In a world of politically correctness, where everyone is offended by everything, I find this podcast to be a much needed break from that. Ummm… isn’t that the point of free speech? I personally find it as a breath of fresh air to here someone speak their mind, and I might not agree with him all of the time, but even so, I appreciate the way it makes me think differently about something. I recently heard a review for this podcast where the caller was upset that Mike the host voiced his own opinions on HIS OWN PODCAST. If you’re ready for a podcast that tells it like it is and isnt afraid to voice what most of us are already thinking, then this is the podcast for you. If you are an angry, woke leftist listen to Southern Fried True Crime. The host would probably appreciate it and play it at the end of one of the podcasts. If you do listen and are offended (which is very unlikely if you are normal), call the host and leave him a message. So, if you are normal and can appreciate a quick comment that may differ from your opinion, listen to Sword and Scale. Plus, the way he gets his occasional little digs in are funny, quick and subtle! Not like the Southern Fried True Crime host that constantly beats her listeners with leftist indignation. His opinions do not change the crime that was committed and that you want to hear all about. F his beliefs, listen to his stories-they are fascinating and well executed. People don’t like the tiny, tiny bit of social commentary that he sometimes inserts. I make sure that I can listen to it uninterrupted, it is that good! The host weaves a good story, keeps it a whodunnit and covers interesting crimes. I listen to many others but Sword and Scale is the one I get excited about when a new one comes out. Unfortunately, this was the first one I listened to and assumed all would be this great. I have been listening to true crime podcasts for 6 years and this is the best ever.
